ALPS | Advanced – Winter 2022

This opportunity is for the Winter Session 2022 (January 5th – April 7th).

Gain meaningful work experience by committing anywhere from 15 hours per week to over 35 hours on a project with the Research and Business Development Center (RBDC). During the summer session, only the Research Specialist (15 – 30+ hours per week) opportunity is available.

Interns are selected for two time slots: Morning (9am – 1pm) and Afternoon (1pm – 5pm). This time needs to be available during the week. We expect that interns will be in the office for most of that time each week.

Project Types

Projects help small to large businesses, government entities and entrepreneurs eliminate risk in their decision making. Strenuous problems are solved with data gathered from teams. The types of projects are listed below.

Training

RBDC will train you before you begin work with your client and training will continue weekly throughout the 7-week internship.

Mentorship

Your team will be assigned a project manager through the RBDC who will provide general guidance, insight into how to accomplish work, and assist in client meetings. You will also receive direction and instruction from your client, the RBDC Director of Business, and a community or BYU-I faculty mentor.

Research Specialist

  • AVG of 30 hrs per week
  • Internship/course credit available (varies by department)
  • Available to junior/seniors (competitive selection)
  • No experience required
  • $500 support grant (Stipend) available
  • Max 6 credits or about 15 hours per week of part-time employment
  • Rexburg or Remote
